Victorian Marine Industry to Assist Businesses Understand Small Engine Emissions and Evaporative Laws

The Boating Industry Association of Victoria (BIAV) will undertake an information session and webinar to assist businesses, particularly boat manufacturers and dealers, understand the Small Engine Emissions and Evaporative Laws taking place from 2017, in an information session and webinar being held on July 14, 2016 at the BIAV head office in South Melbourne.


The session titled Small Engine Emissions & Evaporative Laws:  What You Need to Know, will address questions boat manufacturers and dealers may have regarding the effects of these new laws to their businesses including:

  • How these laws will affect your business
  • What to do about clean engines
  • Changes to fuel systems that need to be incorporated immediately
  • How to capture market share now ahead of the laws


These questions and more will be answered in the information session and webinar, which includes world renowned experts in evaporative emission regulatory laws including:

  • Craig Scholten – Technical VP, American Boating and Yacht Council (ABYC), USA
  • Chris Bostwick – Engineering Manager, Attwood Corporation, USA
  • George Bellwoar – VP Sales & Marketing, Perko, Inc., USA
  • Chris Brown – Director of Compliance and Technology, SeaStar Solutions, USA
  • Declan O’Connor-Cox – Director, Air Quality Section, Department of the Environment, Canberra


The information session and webinar will take place at the BIAV head office at Marine House.  Those unable to attend in person can connect via web (please see details below).  A selection of evaporative components will also be on display onsite for attendees to inspect.
